EDGE Analysis

Very little is known about the Cartago worm salamander because only three individuals have ever been collected and it has not been seen since 1985. This species inhabits lower montane rainforest and has been found living under moss. The major threat to this species is likely to be habitat loss due to increased urbanisation within and around its range, and expanding smallholder farming and cattle ranching.
